The project aims at using biotechnology to study
the potential uses of selected plants native to
the Middle East region for the purpose of
diversifying Lebanon’s agricultural portfolio.
By focusing its research approaches on sound
scientific basis and using biotechnological
advances and tools, the Initiative for
Biodiversity Studies in Arid Regions (IBSAR)
will aim at generating new information,
developing know how, and building the capacity
of the local agro-industrial sector in Lebanon. |
