Considerable interest has been recently generated concerning the use of natural compounds that could protect against several types of cancer. Plant polyphenols have proved to be a potent class of anti-tumor agents in various animal models and tumor systems. The main objective of this project is to investigate the anticancer effects of gallotannin, a plant derived polyphenolic compound, and to determine the mechanism of its anti-tumor effects in human colon cancer cells.
